OAI-PMH and TAPIR

As part of a project funded through the TDWG Infrastructure Project (TIP), the use of OAI-PMH over TAPIR was investigated.

The outcomes of this project included enhancements to the TapirDotNET provider software to handle OAI-PMH requests and return valid OAI-PMH responses.

The attached document outlines the findings of this project.

One of the interesting pieces of functionality that came out of this project was the ability to embed metadata from an LSID call into a TAPIR response. Ie the TapirDotNET provider software now allows you to map a TAPIR concept to an LSID resolution call and embed the response of this call in the TAPIR response.
