Discussion

Why "Thing"? This sounds like an insider joke of programmers like the "foobar". While thing sounds ok for specimens, for observations, taxon names, persons, places, it sounds strange. etc. Why not simply BaseClass?? - Gregor

What does replaces/replacedBy refer to: classes (i.e. used to document change in the class ontology) or instances? In the latter case I wonder whether this is indeed a base-functionality. TaxonNames? or DescriptiveConcepts? can certainly be replaced, but when is a specimen of publication replaced? Please give an example - Gregor
